It was determined during the planning of the new office building to incorporate a Level 2 electric vehicle charging station. Big Horn does not anticipate much use of the charging station. However, it is a service that will be available to a potential member or user should they own an electric vehicle and need a charge between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
An electric car will have a peak draw of approximately 6.6 to 7.2 kW (similar to a water heater) with a kWh capacity of 40 kWh. A vehicle plugged in for two hours will use about 14 kWh. The cost to Big Horn for the energy usage will be $2.24. The person having the vehicle charged will be required to reimburse Big Horn this cost.
