Update to Members 3-31-2020
During this time of COVID-19, Big Horn REA hopes that our members are finding ways to remain safe and healthy. Big Horn thanks you for your patience and understanding as we have adjusted our work schedules and processes in our attempt to provide a safe work environment to our employees and members.
The lobby is still closed however we have employees at the office answering the phones, making deposits, and receiving mail. There is a payment drop box in the alley to the west of the office building. We have instructed our employees to practice social distancing so at times Big Horn will be “meeting” with members via a phone call or email. Other practices Big Horn is doing to ensure our office and line operations personnel are able to continue providing the essential functions of the cooperative are: line crews are separated into teams and report to work at separate times so that they have minimal contact; the Lovell crew works independently of other employees; employees are providing more documents electronically rather than handling paper work amongst employees; and when practical some employees will work at home.
We want to remind you that we are trying to keep Big Horn REA operating as effectively as possible and still providing service to our members. If you have an outage, our office staff is answering phones during normal working hours and after hours all calls are handled by our professional answering service.
Also, your Board of Directors met at their regular meeting on March 25, 2020. In order to comply with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance of social distancing due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the meeting took place by teleconference. At each board meeting there is the opportunity for a member to attend and make comments. This opportunity will also be available during the period of times the Board meetings take place by teleconference. If you would want to make comments at a board meeting, please contact manager Jeff Umphlett so that you can be put on the agenda.
Stay positive and be safe!
Jeff Umphlett, General Manager
